Artist: Brothers and Sisters
Label: Calla Lilly
Genre: Folk
What better way to come down off of the 4th of July weekend than with a little something new from a band that has long been compared to great American folk acts like the Mamas and the Papas, the Byrds, and the Jayhawks, with a little Canadian Neil Young thrown in to boot? I say nothing!
The Brothers and Sisters’ new record is called Fortunately, and it will be officially released August 19, but locally available next week. Or you can pick up a free copy with the price of cover to their release show this Saturday, July 12. Judging by “The Air Is Getting Thicker” it seems as if it should be a record worth spending hours with on the back porch. Check it out, and try not to get lost in its engaging ways for too long.
