Explosions in the Sky to Play July 4th Date at Stubb’s

By Austin Sound • Apr 9th, 2009 • Category: News, Sound Picks

One of the highlights of this past SXSW was undoubtedly Explosions in the Sky’s set at Auditorium Shores that closed with the fireworks bursting overhead. Ideal, right? We’ll, all of us here in Austin will have a chance to relive that experience on the Fourth of July, as EitS have scheduled a show at Stubb’s that night. The band, of course, famously took its name from an Independence Day KVRX Party, so you know, full circle and all that. Perhaps best of all though is that also on the bill are Octopus Project and Andrew Kenny’s new band, Wooden Birds, so needless to say this will be a stellar night of music down at ol’ Waller Creek. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, April 11 through Front Gate Tickets.
