Bradford Cox can seemingly do no wrong for the indie crowd, and while both Deerhunter and Atlas Sound have been more than hyped past their due, it’s refreshing to be reminded that Cox, and especially the latter band, continually impress beyond the mere accolades. “I like to make people moist,” Cox deadpanned from the stage, “but not quite like this.” Still, the band’s brand of shoegazey ambience and Cox’s continued progression on the guitar to unload some truly impressive rock bursts, even when fronting from behind the drum kit, seemed perfectly fit for the dreary afternoon.
